![]() But for those who remember the days of toys looking better than their animated counterparts, it’s Gargoyles all the way. NECAs Ninja Turtles animated figures may be their flagship line now, and for fans who want toys that exactly resemble cartoons, they’re amazing. For now, she beats most competitive figures. The only thing that would really improve her sculpt is if NECA could crack pinless joints the way Hasbro has. Her articulation mostly mirrors Goliath’s except that her knees do the double hinge rather than disc-and-pin ball. Or maybe it can and requires a better poser than I. The only drawback is that the bazooka doesn’t really sit on her shoulder and hold in her hand at the same time. Both heads sport metal earrings.ĭemona includes multiple hands, but the ones that hold her weapons will see the most use. The dual ball neck joint can create a bit of a bobble-head look, though. The Crooked Woman, maybe?ĭemonic or no, she does seem to utilize digital face printing. Remove completely and you get a fetaureless horror straight out of The Conjuring. ![]() Rather than swappable heads, Demona features swappable faces. Unlike Goliath, her wings have little hands on them. Nice cloth texture detail on the costume too. Dudes who like feet may not enjoy those big gargoyle toes, but collectors who like their figures to stand up will. ![]() RELATED: Toy Review: Gargoyles’ Evil Clone Thailog, by NECAĭemona, meanwhile, has a gorgeously sculpted athletic female physique. The tail’s on a ball joint, too - anything you ought to be able to move on Bronx, you can. It won’t hold poses, but while playing you can bend it side to side. The waist also includes a hidden skin-over-frame joint. If this were a livestock animal, customers might worry it had been shot with too much growth hormone. Though his face may look more cartoony than the others, his body’s musculature is the highlight. The latter works best for his meat snack. One with a hinged jaw, and one with mouth all the way open. Despite a double ball-jointed neck, he can’t really look down like that.īronx includes two heads. But don’t try standing him on his hind legs. Demona is one of the main villains from the show, she's a gargoyle, she hates humans, she was once partners with Goliath, and had a figure in the vintage Kenner toyline. She's a very cool looking figure who can fit into multiple different places in my collection. When I stumbled upon Demona for $12 or $15 dollars at a bin store, though, I couldn't resist. NECA's Gargoyles action figures looked impressive but I didn't have any interest in picking them up. I didn't realize until the last year or two what a fanbase Gargoyles still has and it makes me want to go back and watch the show on Disney+. I remember the toys being in stores and looking quite cool but I was probably more into Spawn, Stargate, Mighty Max, Iron Man, and Batman. I was in fifth grade and definitely still was watching cartoon and playing with action figures (to be honest, I've never really stopped), but I guess I just never got too into it. I absolutely remember Gargoyles being on but I don't remember watching it much. Lately I've been finding some real gems at a local bin store and today I'm checking out another great find: Demona from NECA's Gargoyles line.
